Hello. I'm Colin Saunders and I write books and articles about walking. For details of my existing publications, please click here.
I have retired from full-time work, which included spells organising walking holidays, major charity walks, a walking festival and walking trails. If you want to know more about my career, please click here.
But I intend to continue working on various projects, most of which are concerned with walking and unpaid. And although it may seem like an ego-trip, the main reason for this website is to provide a vehicle for publishing details about these projects. For more information please click here.
Walking, as you will have gathered, rather dominates my life (I'm a member of the British Walking Federation, Long Distance Walkers Association and The Ramblers); but I have other interests: classical music, cryptic crosswords, playing the piano (strictly for my own amusement), trying to prevent my garden from becoming a wilderness and supporting Barnet Football Club (not as painful as it sounds).
